If you’re feeling up to the challenge, the Mighty Stride at just under 26 miles would have you setting off from Duthie Park bright and early. As you head out of the City Centre passing through Peterculter, you head for the glorious Aberdeenshire countryside. The Aberdeen walk offers one of the most beautiful scenic routes. Passing the Royal Deeside Railway, the majority of the remaining route follows the banks of the River Dee.
Stopping off at the King George V Park in Banchory, this is where the 8-and-a-bit mile Wee Wander joins the route. Across the road and through the archway into Banchory Forest, this leg of the journey will expose you to all the amazing sounds of the outdoors. A final climb to the Shooting Green, then it’s all downhill on the final stretch, getting you into Potarch in time for the celebrations!
There are a number of wonderful charities hosting our pit stops at this year’s Kiltwalk events. These Pit Stop Partners are on hand to supply you with water, snacks, entertainment, top class conversation and encouragement. All walks end in our Kiltwalk Village in Potarch, with food, entertainment, live music and a great atmosphere.
