Under the direction of Graeme Stevenson, the University Choir and Orchestra will combine to perform 2 works with nods to royalty; a little known secular work by Gustav Holst, King Estmere, and the Polovtsian Dances from Price Igor by Borodin. King Estmere is a setting of an old English ballad with the odd questionable text, the work is full of melodic variety with the occasional hint of works to come e.g. The Planets. The orchestra will also be performing to staples of the repertoire: Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave) and the first of Bizet's Carmen Suites.

Mendelsoohn - Hebrides Overture

Biznet - Carmen Suite

Holst - King Estmere

Borodin - Choral Dance from Prince Igor

Conductor - Graeme Stevenson
